22.Kedai Cikgu is a lively cafe-restaurant located in Kampung Melayu Sungai Rapat, Ipoh, that draws a steady crowd especially during breakfast hours. The vibe here leans toward a casual, community-focused dining spot where locals drop by for hearty morning meals that bridge traditional Malaysian flavors with some Western breakfast options.

The space offers plenty of seating, but on weekend mornings it can get quite busy, making parking a bit of a challenge with spots mainly along the roadside. Despite the rush, food generally arrives within about 15 minutes—fast enough to keep the morning flow moving without feeling rushed.

The menu embraces a broad range of breakfast choices, from local favorites like Roti Khittab (a generous, hearty bread served with soft-boiled eggs and kaya jam) and Nasi Lemak Berlauk Daging Hitam Telur Mata, to Western-style offerings such as the Big Breakfast Plate. Portion sizes tend to be generous, which suits those looking for a filling start to the day.

Visitors often appreciate the familiarity in the food and the down-to-earth environment, with the atmosphere reminiscent of a kampung-style gathering where neighbors might meet over a comforting meal. The friendly and efficient staff add to this welcoming feel. Clean facilities, including tidy toilets, contribute to a practical and pleasant dining experience.

This spot is best for those who want a straightforward, no-frills breakfast with a good variety—from local classics to a touch of Western breakfast—and don’t mind sharing the space with a fair number of regulars and families on bustling mornings. Early weekend visits or weekday mornings may offer the best chance at easy seating. Expect a menu that is solid on Malaysian breakfast staples along with some comforting fusion dishes, served in a relaxed, community-rooted setting.

Went around 8.30 weekend. Not that many table left. Few parking by the roadside. Foods were served after around 15 minutes. Plenty to choose from the menu. Shashukka has quite a small portion for rm13 and I don’t like their buns. Bubur nasi ayam and lontong were good. Overall a decent breakfast experience.

Food was nice! I especially enjoyed the mushroom soup & nasi lemak chicken chop! Their roti is all so good ! Quite busy for breakfast but can get a spot.

This restaurant offers a wide variety of breakfast options, and the portions are generous. I really enjoyed the roti kitab—the bread was huge, it came with two eggs, and they gave plenty of kaya jam. Despite being quite crowded on a Saturday, the food arrived within 15 minutes. The toilet was also clean.

Having breakfast here. Nice experience. Variety of menu from local to western. This is my review based on our taste buds Big Bread Mushrooms- 4⭐ Shasuka with toast - 5⭐ Nasi lemak telur mata - 3⭐ Wantan soup - 3⭐ Waiting time sekejap sahaja..service from staff friendly. Banyak meja disediakan. Parking somehow difficult especially during peak hour.

I order Lontong Melayu & Roti Khitab. And my drink is hot Lemon. The lontong is good with serunding kelapa, sambal sotong, not spicy and i love it The roti khitab is a big toast and they put 2 quater boil eggs and a splash of kaya on plate...the toast and egg is nice but the kaya make everything another level 1st time coming here and enjoy the enviroment, like having breakfast at your kampong under the tree of your front yard

Just discovered 22 Warung Cikgu this morning, and it’s already on my repeat list for Ipoh breakfast. The omelette with fluffy toast was comforting and satisfying, simple but done right. I also tried the lempeng with sambal, and it got the umphh, spicy and bold in all the best ways. Definitely coming back to try the roti milo next since it looks way too tempting to skip.

Big portions food & very full filling! Highly recommended. The food are nicely plated & presentable. I am at awe as the food arrives & I have never seen anything like their Big Bun Mushrooms. Its not like your ordinary mushrooms soup. The bun was soft almost taste like brioche & they stuffed with telur goyang inside the bun. Very smart dish & I will definitely come again to try others menu
